For many years Georgia Power and St. Vincent de Paul Georgia have worked together to support the community.

Why does Georgia Power donate to the community?

Georgia Power believes in building strong communities. Our communities are at the core of what makes Georgia an attractive state to live, learn and do business. Since 1883, Georgia Power has remained steadfast in its mission to improve the same communities it calls home for its customers, employees, neighbors and friends. As part of that promise, we maintain relationships with key leaders and organizations, so we can work together to help our communities flourish and  build a brighter future for our state. We have many ways through which we give back across the state, including employee volunteerism, the Georgia Power Foundation and Corporate Giving. Our employees have devoted themselves to not only providing the best electric service but also enriching the lives of their neighbors and communities.

Why did Georgia Power choose to donate to/invest in SVdP?

At Georgia Power, we envision a state where every community is strong. From promoting financial stability and independence to improving health and ending chronic homelessness, Georgia Power supports organizations like St. Vincent de Paul to touch thousands of lives across Georgia by addressing a variety of community, family and individual needs. SVdP treats people with dignity and works with individuals and families to achieve stability. We know that stable, self-sufficient families are the cornerstones of our communities  – so our investments in the organization are helping both families and communities.

What value does SVdP provide to the community?

SVdP strives to equip individuals experiencing a time of hardship with the materials, education and confidence needed to establish financial security and self-sufficiency, which supports the society’s mission to help those in need so they may become self-sufficient and achieve stability.

Which of SVdP’s programs/services does Georgia Power find to be the most impactful?

The Society serves individuals based on their circumstances
through financial assistance, food, clothing, transportation assistance or a
combination of these services. In 2018, we supported the Hope Transformed
campaign to build the Education Center, Connected Classroom and Jobs Center. We
are proud to support these programs that provide access to educational and
training programs that will lead to stable families and communities.
