Sanchez is a caretaker for his elderly mom and his blind sister. He lives with his extended family, which includes his two brothers, one sister-in-law and 3 children. All of the adults had jobs working at restaurants until they were closed due to the pandemic.
“Like most of our clients, Sanchez had never experienced financially devastation until last month.” said Lillah, a Saint Jude Caseworker.
The family had exhausted their savings and no one was hiring. Sanchez decided to reach out to SVdP out of desperation and got connected to the Conference at Saint Jude. After assessing the situation, SVdP provided the family with rent assistance and food to help them through the difficult time until they can get back to work.
