Meet SVdP Georgia’s New Pharmacist, Dr. Samantha Ricks

Dr. Samantha Ricks (“Dr. Sam”) is excited to join the St. Vincent de Paul Georgia team as the new Director of Pharmacy. Dr. Sam is originally from Chicago and obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in 2004.

Dr. Sam started her professional career as a staff pharmacist in various retail and community pharmacy settings.  She eventually recognized the need to diversify her career portfolio and obtained several positions in non-traditional settings including hospital, long-term acute care, mental health facilities, and home infusion. Throughout the years Dr. Sam has taken on several roles, eventually working her way up to middle and upper-level management positions. She has mentored several pharmacists in their careers and has earned awards and recognition for her leadership.  Dr. Sam has also provided management and consultant services to several non-traditional pharmacies and other small businesses through a staffing agency that she co-owns.

With over 20 years of pharmacy experience, Samantha hopes to lend her expertise to the upward growth and expansion of the pharmacy.  She is eager to serve as many patients in need as possible and is dedicated to providing compassionate care in the process.
