Angela

On June, 19, 2018 Angela lost her home. She was in the final stages of a divorce and her 12- year old daughter went to spend the summer with her father. Angela and her two youngest children moved in with an out of state family member until she could find a job and get back on her feet. After 9 days, it was clear to her that this arrangement was not going to work out. Emotional, with nowhere to go and no one else to turn to she returned to Atlanta.

We were back to the drawing board and living in our car again. Every assistance program I called was not able to help me or I was put on a waiting list. Through the grace of God, I found SVdP,” she said. “My children and I were able to have two weeks at an extended stay hotel. I was also given gas money, sources for further assistance, and interview clothes because I was still trying to find a job. I got the job and one of the agencies they sent me to helped me find an apartment and helped with two months rent until I got my first two paychecks. It’s hard being a single mother and starting all over again. I am grateful and thankful that I have my three children together and we have a roof over our heads. I am so thankful for all those that God put in my path to help me.
