WHAT IS GEORGIA FOOD STAMPS?

The Georgia Food Stamp program provides monthly benefits to low-income households to help pay for the cost of food. A household may be one person living alone, a family, or several, unrelated individuals living together who routinely purchase and prepare meals together. Anyone may apply for food stamp benefits. The program helps households that have limited income and resources.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR GEORGIA FOOD STAMPS?

To be eligible for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the state of Georgia and meet one of the following requirements:

  • You have a current bank balance (savings and checking combined) under $2,001, or
  • You have a current bank balance (savings and checking combined) under $3,001 and share your household with one of the following:A person or persons age 60 and over or
  • A person with a disability (a child, your spouse, a parent, or yourself).

To be eligible, you must have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below the following amounts:
